Lab Policies

Tutors Responsibilities

All tutors shall display absolute professionalism during lab hours.

  1. Arrive for respective shifts at 5:45 p.m.
  2. Be prepared for your shift by having already reviewed material as reported in the previous meeting.
  3. Discuss relative concepts, topics and parallel problems with students rather than providing answers to specific homework problems, projects and take-home exams.
  4. During slow lab hours or when students are not present, use the time to:
    • Review supported course related material.
    • Review/practice MiniTab or DataDesk software.
    • Limit your computer use to email and school work and not instant messaging and other forms of entertainment.
  5. Return the room to its original state and secure the lab and equipment at the end of your shift.
  6. Attend all meetings and prepare a liaison report of related topics, homework due dates, projects and prelims.

Substitutions should be limited throughout the semester. Tutors must give the entire staff ample advance notice of his/her need of a sub.

Class visits are required two times per semester.
