Argentine hemorrhagic fever (AHF) is caused by the New World arenavirus Junin. It is a major public health problem among agricultural workers in Argentina, and is of significance concern for biodefense. We are studying the route of entry of the rodent virus Tacirabe, and performing structure-function studies of the envelope glycoprotein of Tacirabe and Junin viruses
