Tips for thriving in graduate school Preparing Future Faculty - The PFF program at the University of New Hampshire. Is your dream to finish graduate school and get a job as a faculty member? If so, the PFF program has lots to offer you. PFF provides training to supplement your graduate program so that as a new faculty member you can successfully balance your responsibilities of research, teaching and service. AERG Guide for Research Students and Supervisors. The Applied Ecology Research Group from the University of Canberra, Australia have put together a wonderful reference for graduate students. Links include advice on a wide range of topics including writing a thesis, applying for grants, presenting seminars and introductory statistics for ecology. Some Modest Advice for Graduate Students. The National Geographic Society awards grants for research projects that are of broad scientific interest and have a geographic component. ESA Physiological Ecology Section 2001-2002 Graduate Opportunities. Physiological ecologists, check out this site for information on assistantships, fellowships and short courses. Welder Wildlife Foundation Fellowships for Graduate Students in Wildlife Ecology and Related Areas.Fellowships available for M.S. and Ph.D. wildlife students. Applications are due October 1. National Science Foundation - Graduate Research Fellowships. First year graduate students and those who have completed limited graduate study may apply for a generous stipend and cost-of-education allowance. The deadline for application is November 7. Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid Research Guidelines. Grant application forms as well as the Interactive Grant-in-Aid application can be accessed from Sigma Xi's website. Submission deadlines for grant proposals are March 15 and October 15. NIH- Predoctoral Intramural Research Training Award Fellowship. This fellowship for graduate students in the bio-medical sciences supports full-time training in a NIH laboratory. NOAA National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) Graduate Research Fellowship. Research must take place within the boundary of at least one reserve and address one of the priorities of the Reserve System to be eligible for this fellowship.
