The passive voice isn't necessarily evil - it's a tool like any other that you as a writer can use to achieve a certain effect. The trick is to use the passive voice deliberately rather than unconsciously, so that you master it rather than it mastering you...
Toward that end, consider this assignment a chance to try out and practice the passive voice. Write an account of what you did this past weekend entirely in the passive voice (feel free to edit for embarassing details) - I don't want to see a single active construction. You should aim for about 500 words, and have this posted on your blogs by class on Thursday the 11th.
