A course for majors and nonmajors, focusing on science-bases bird conservation and management at the organism, population, community, and landscape levels. Current resource management issues relevant to birds are explored in the context of agricultural practices, habitat management, tropical deforestation, the design and management of natural preserves, endangered species management, global climate change, and the economic importance of bird study as an outdoor recreational activity.
