Fall 2007

Integrated Pest Management  is offered for 4 credits (letter grade only) and meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:05-9:55 in Room B108 (note we are no longer in B104!) Comstock Hall (basement). There is one laboratory section, which meets Monday, 1:25-4:30 in B144 Comstock Hall.

In this course we attempt to construct a framework within which you can synthesize what you have learned in entomology, plant pathology, weed science, crop production, ecology and farm business management into a coherent, integrated approach to reducing crop losses caused by pests. Lectures integrate the principles of ecology, economics, and pest control across multiple systems. Laboratories comprise exercises to reinforce concepts presented in lecture and demonstrate pest monitoring techniques and the application of computer technology to management problems.
