Elevator Cable Animations
These files were created by Martin Wasiak and Stephen Ostermiller for computer science 418. The cable is made of seven parametric cylinders stacked beside each other and then twisted (rotated as a function of height). The wheel is made of a positive cylinder and four negative cylinders and put together using constructive solid geometry. To make the cables appear as if they are moving, they are rotated like barbershop poles. These images are copyright Martin Wasiak and Stephen Ostermiller but please feel free to use them for non-commercial purposes.
