5/9/07- Total points for the lab practical 3 are 175.5 and will be adjusted to 150 pts towards your final grade. Practical 3 can be picked up in E141 8am-4:30pm from Janeen Orr. If you have regrades, bring them to the Zamudio lab E217 by 5pm Wednesday May 16th.
5/2/07- Practical 3 exam will be returned at final. Answer key will be posted by May 10.
Final exams will be available for pick up on or after May 20 in Corson E141
during regular business hours.
4/30/07- Final is not cumulative and covers lectures 19-36.

4/16/07- Field trip post-poned due to bad weather. This week (4/16-18) come to lab for Mammalia and Archosauria review. Next week (4/23-25) field trip.
4/13/07 - Don't forget to pay late lab fees! You will not get a grade if you do not pay!
Bring 3$ to next week's lab for field trip bus fare.
Practical 2 regrades due Wednesday April 18th.

All lectures will be held normally from now until the end of the semester. Last lecture: May 2nd.

If you need an earlier date contact Kelly to get on the list of students wanting earlier final exams. We will find a single day and time that accommodates the most number of students.

There is confusion about how student ID numbers are posted on the website. Grades are listed by your 6-digit Student ID which you can find in Just the Facts.
3/2/07 - IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE MIDTERM,
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
On Monday, March 5, during regular lecture time, Kelly will be holding a review session in preparation of the lecture exam. Here are a few pointers on the exam and the review session:
a. Bring your questions! It does no good if you just show up
and expect to be lectured at. You are expected to be pro-active, review
your notes, and come with specific questions of material that needs
additional clarification. It will be a communal effort to answer these
questions. (There is no better way to learn than to try and explain
subject material to our peers- so come prepared to share your knowledge)
b. Vertz exams are composed of a series of questions that fall
into four general categories:
1) True/False
2) short answer or compare and contrast
3) a short essay focusing on one of the major transitions in features we have talked about this far
4) a phylogeny question, where you will be asked to place names on a tree, or discuss synapomorphies for the lineages we have covered thus far.
c. Here is a handout with a few exam-type questions, so you can get
a feel for what to expect:
2/26/07 - It has come to our attention that several students gained entry into the Stimson rooms without permission from the Vertz teaching staff. This is not OK. It is our policy to restrict lab viewing to the normally scheduled lab times (Mon, Tues, Wed 1:25-4:30) and the two additional review sessions. These are the only times you may be in the lab. Please feel free to email any of the teaching staff with questions you may have. Good luck on Lab Practical 1!
