How to download materials from Cornell's e-reserve collection.
1. Get there. Go to the CUL Gateway and click on "Course Reserve." 2. Search for English 288.5's e-reserve list by selecting "Davis, Stuart" from the instructor picklist or "English 288.5" from the course picklist and clicking on "Search." 3. Click on the name of any article. You'll be asked to enter your C.U. i.d. and your last name. 4. From the list of e-reserve articles, click on the one you want. At this point, your computer may play dumb, showing you this dialog box:
5. The next dialog box will give you the chance to re-name the file (by default, it will be called "Scandoc.cgi") and save it to a place on your hard disk. Do that. 6. Open the document by clicking on the icon or listing for the document. Your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader. If by any chance it doesn't, download that free reader from the Adobe site. 7. Print out the document. 8. Complain a little about the intricacy of this process. But then think of what you would be spending for this material in a coursepack. Back to English 280.5 page |
