- "A Decomposition of Consumption Inequality for Ecuador": Thesis topic for Master degree at Cornell University. Performed a decomposition of consumption inequality by economic sector and by consumption determinants in order to determine which factors contribute the most to inequality in Ecuador. I utilized data from a 1994 Living Standards Measurement Survey and applied a new decomposition methodology developed by Prof. Gary Fields at Cornell.

- "An Economic Evaluation of a Chilean Privatization": Dissertation paper for the MA in Economics. Made an evaluation of the privatization of a Chilean company using economic modeling. A revised version of the paper was presented at the Western Regional Science Association 34th meeting in San Diego in February of 1995.

- "Neoliberalism": Analysis of the principles, strengths, problems and repercussion of neoliberal policies applied on Latin America. Focus in four countries: Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia and Chile. Presented as a position paper in a seminar of development in July of 1994.

- "The US-Panama Crisis of 1989": Political-historical analysis of the causes that led to the US decision of intervening in Panama. Was one of two papers distributed to the International Affairs Committee as prerequisite for graduation.

- "Financial Leasing in Ecuador": Dissertation for the BA in Economics. Analysis of the financial/accounting implications of using leasing for financing private firms and corporations needs of funds. The study includes fiscal, financial and accounting aspects of the operation. Excerpts published in CIFRA, a major Ecuadorian economic journal.
